The Municipality has announced the deadline to register floats for the Canada Day Parade has been extended.

Businesses, organizations, and community groups now have until June 21 to sign up their float or as a walking group with the Municipality.

Revelers will be lining the parade route along Franklin Avenue in red, white and orange on July 1st, as decorative floats make their way along the parade route.

The parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at Riedel Street, heads north on Franklin Avenue, and ends at the corner of Main Street and Clearwater Drive.

Main Street is the site for people looking for a calm, sensory-friendly parade experience with lower volumes of sounds and sirens will be turned off.

Partnering with the RMWB, MacDonald Island Park will also host Canada Day activities, including a Fort McMurray Giants game at Legacy Dodge Field, and the Syncrude Grand Finale Fireworks display.
