Police continue to investigate a serious car crash just south of Fort McKay.
On June 1, 2022, at 2:35 p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP were notified of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 63 approximately one kilometer south of the hamlet.
According to Fort McMurray Traffic Services, a cube van travelling southbound on Hwy. 63 slowed down to make a left turn, when the southbound pickup truck behind it did not slow down, and rear-ended the van.
Both occupants of the van received minor injuries, and were taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the pickup truck sustained serious unknown injuries and was also taken to hospital.
