One of the candidates for the leader of the UCP, Travis Toews, officially launched his campaign at the Rotary House on the Stampede Grounds on Saturday.
Toews resigned as Alberta’s finance minister following Jason Kenney’s statement saying cabinet ministers who enter the race to replace him must resign their posts.
Toews also announced his two campaign co-chairs: MLA for Calgary Northwest, Sonya Savage, and MP for Grand Prairie-Mackenzie, Chris Warkentin.
Toews says he wants to focus on healing rifts in the party.
The co-chairs are expected to provide guidance and counsel on how the campaign can best reach Albertans.
