The Athabasca Tribal Council (ATC) is asking Wood Buffalo for help with their upcoming festival.
Volunteers are urgently needed for the ATC Cultural Festival at Snye Point Park from Sept. 6-13, 2022.
Coordinator Rachel Wright from the Northstar Ford Wood Buffalo Volunteer Centre said there is also a call for volunteers to assist in event set-up and take-down.
“Sign up with friends and family, or a team from your workplace or community organization. If you sign up with your organization, we encourage you to please wear your organization’s t-shirts, uniforms, etc. to promote visibility of your community involvement while at the cultural festival.”
Interested participants may register with woodbuffalovolunteers.ca for the following roles:
- Food Service Assistant (this area is in high need of volunteers)
- Event Set-UpĀ (this area is in high need of volunteers)
- Artist Assistants
- Guest Services
- Cultural Village Assistants
- Event Take-Down
According to the ATC, there are four-hour shifts still available during the week-long event, including setting up tipis and driving Elders across the Festival grounds.
Events are scheduled from Sept. 8-11.
