$75,000 raised through annual hospital fundraiser

Held at Snye Point Park, the 5th annual Hospital Bed Races, presented by Raymond James, raised $75,000 for the Northern Lights Health Foundation.

Putting the fun back in fundraiser, the 5th annual Hospital Bed Races, presented by Raymond James, raised $75,000.

Held at Syne Point Park on Sept. 24, 2022, the Northern Lights Health Foundation (NLHF) said the event broke new records in participants and money raised.

“Once again, the community really came together to make this event a great success,” Said Greg Fuhr, Board Chair of the NLHF. “The support and commitment we received from our sponsors, volunteers, all the race participants, and everyone who pledged their support, was truly humbling.”

Funds from Saturday’s races will go to support local healthcare initiatives.

“While it may seem like only one day at the races, the impact of everyone’s efforts will affect people’s lives, every single day.” Said NLHF Executive Director, Cindy Amerongen.

While this year’s winner of the Golden Bed Pan Trophy was FCC Young Adults, Lorna Ash, Director of Development with the NLHF said the Bed Races is an event in which everyone wins.

“We are so inspired by the fundraising each team member does and how they bring others together to support the races. Everyone has a great time and health care in the community gets a serious boost; putting the latest technology and equipment in the hands of healthcare staff so they can provide the best care to their patients.”

Ash added it’s a win-win situation.
