The Hub Family Resource Centre has announced it will operate out of MacDonald Island Park (MIP) in 2023.

Their family support services and caregiving programs will be based out of Shell Place in the spring.

Samantha Simpson, Executive Director of the Hub, said the new, significantly larger space is also located near a facility local families use for social and recreational programs.

“The move to MacDonald Island Park allows us to work closely with the Regional Recreation Corporation to offer programming in a more accessible location for all members of the community.”

Their free programming and services for children and families will continue at their new location.

Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo, Graig Walsh, said the RRC is excited welcome The Hub to MIP.

“This respected and well-known family services provider is a natural fit for MacDonald Island Park, and their presence on the Island opens new opportunities for partnership and collaboration. We wish them all the best as they transition to the Island as their new home in our region.”

More details on the move will be provided at a later date.
