Drug bust leads to three arrests in Thickwood

Wood Buffalo RCMP arrested three people in connection with a drug trafficking investigation.

On Nov. 9, 2022, officers along with Police Dog Services executed a search warrant at a residence in Thickwood, seizing 100 grams of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, and narcotics.

Police also seized several firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Two men, a 42-year-old and a 31-year-old, as well as a 36-year-old woman, all from Fort McMurray, were arrested.

RCMP charged the 42-year-old with the following:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order
  • Careless storage of a firearm

 

The 31-year-old faces a similar list of charges:

  • Trafficking a controlled substance
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order
  • Careless storage of a firearm

 

The 36-year-old woman has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and careless storage of a firearm.
