RCMP investigating bomb threat to Jubilee Building

Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating after a bomb threat was made to the Jubilee Building.

Around 11:50 a.m. on Nov. 28, 2022, police responded to a threat made to the municipal building in downtown Fort McMurray.

The Jubilee Building and the Provincial Building, which share the office space on Franklin Ave. and Main St., were evacuated.

RCMP had set up a containment zone and blocked off traffic through the area while they conducted their investigation.

Wood Buffalo RCMP released a statement shortly after 6:30 p.m.

“Wood Buffalo RCMP have cleared the scene. There was no evidence of anything unusual found at the scene.”

There were no reported injuries.

RCMP said a subsequent update with more details may be released on Nov. 29, 2022.

The investigation into the bomb threat is ongoing.
