REGINA — An agency responsible for tourism in Regina has apologized for using slogans that have been criticized for their sexual overtones.

Experience Regina CEO Tim Reid says the organization fell short after using slogans online that hinted at the city’s name rhyming with female anatomy.

Reid says the agency has since removed the slogans from its website and social media platforms.

Some in Regina had raised concerns, saying the phrases were unnecessary and took the city backward in advancing women’s rights.

Reid has thanked those who raised concerns for holding the agency accountable.

The slogans were part of a rebrand for the city as it tries to attract more tourists.
