Huskies Award Winners announced

The Keyano Huskies announced several award winners at the 2016-2017 Athletic Banquet.

“The Huskies have been around since 1985, and to see the growth of the program has been just amazing,” Said Curtis J. Phillips, Sports Information Officer for the Huskies. “The highlight of the 2016-2017 season though was the Huskies men’s soccer team winning Silver at the CCAA National Championships that were played at Shell Place.”

Men’s Award Winners:

  • Rookie of the Year- Terence Crisostomo (Basketball)
  • MVP- Jonathas Michel (Basketball)
  • Rookie of the Year- Ramsey Harder (Volleyball)
  • MVP- Alex Sabourin (Volleyball)
  • Rookie of the Year- Yusuph Kalenga (Soccer)
  • MVP- Tali Guet (Soccer)

Women’s Award Winners:

  • Rookie of the Year- Aliyah Johnson (Basketball
  • MVP- Moiyan Toure (Basketball)
  • Rookie of the Year- Reagan Toth (Volleyball)
  • MVP- Nicole Robinson (Volleyball)
  • Rookie of the Year- Emilee Kronbauer (Soccer)
  • MVP- Emma Jones (Soccer)

The Huskies also had several players that made ACAC All-Conference including four players from men’s volleyball.

Jakub Zdybek who also was recognized as rookie of the year was honoured, along with Blazej Pellowski, Justin Delorme and Alex Sabourin.

Eduardo Filho and Angel Goldson were recognized from men’s soccer, while Terence Crisostomo, Jonathas Michel and Rami Ghanem were recognized from men’s basketball.

On the women’s side, Moiyan Toure and Danielle McLellan received All-Conference honours.

The 2016-2017 Male Athlete of the Year was Pedro Bianchi from the Keyano Huskies men’s soccer team. Moiyan Toure received the Female Athlete of the Year honour for her role on the women’s basketball team.

The Brent Butt Memorial Award was rewarded to Sarah MacDonald who overcame the most adversity on or off the field.
