The St. Louis Blues have signed former Fort McMurray Oil Baron Colton Parayko to a US$27.5-million, five-year contract just before the sides were set to go to arbitration.
Blues general manager Doug Armstrong and the 24-year-old restricted free agent had arrived at the hearing in Toronto when they settled on a long-term contract.
The defenceman, has 13 goals and 55 assists over his first two NHL seasons.
He also played in the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, where he registered 7 points (3 goals and 4 assists) and was named an All-Star.
