A Snowy Owl made a trip down south and it wasn’t on the Hogwarts Express.
Sithara Fernando, a wildlife biologist, said there was an injured owl discovered last week who needed assistance outside the region.
Fernando dubs herself a giant Harry Potter fan and like any potter head, she named the owl Hedwig.
Alberta Fish and Wildlife suggested Fernando take Hedwig to a rehabilitation centre just south of Edmonton.
“She probably has a broken wing and depending where the break is, they can fix it. If it is too severe they said there are times where they take injured animals and have them become part of their educational programming,” said Fernando.
Fernando chuckled when telling MyMcMurray that she was unsure what kind of music a Snowy Owl listens too.
“I didn’t want to stress her out or anything like that… so I actually went with a Harry Potter audiobook,” said Fernando. “We definitely listened to the part where Hagrid gets Hedwig for Harry at Diagon Alley, I thought she would like that.”
