AFL President possibly running to lead Alberta's NDP party

The Alberta Federation of Labour’s president says he might run in the race to lead the province’s NDP party.

Gil McGowan says he’ll make up his mind soon, so he can campaign over the summer before October’s vote.

He says it be hard to leave his current job as he believes he’s making a difference in the labour scene.

Current leader, Brian Mason’s stepping down as of October 19th.

McGowan would be up against NDP MLA Dave Eggen, and possibly MLA Rachel Notley who’s expected to make a decision.
