Council will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018 to discuss the Competitive Procurement Audit and the Action Plan.
The plan was put into action after council approve it on June 12, 2018 and MNP was contracted to conduct internal audits of the competitive procurement evaluation process as well as capital projects and single source procurement.
MNP found that the Municipality currently has leading practice standard operating procedures but those procedures are not consistently being followed.
Now a total of seven of the 38 recommendations outlined in the action plan have been completed and two are in progress.
The main recommendation is for council to receive training on how to follow a standard operating procedure to increased transparency with contractors.
Council will also review the policy in which mayor and councillors are compensated for work, travel along with other expenses.
