RCMP investigate two downtown robberies

Wood Buffalo RCMP is looking for information after pair of robberies happened downtown on Dec. 11, 2018.  

At approximately 7:00 a.m., RCMP responded to a robbery at a business on Franklin Ave. near Father Mercredi St. The suspect entered the business, brandished a knife, and demanded money. An undisclosed amount of Canadian currency was taken by the suspect, before he fled on foot. 

The suspect is described as:  

  • Caucasian male 
  • approximately 5’8” tall 
  • 200 lbs.  
  • dark hair 
  • round face, and square chin.  

 

The suspect was also wearing a grey toque with pom-pom on top, black jacket, blue jeans, black shoes with white accents, and bright green undergarments. 

Later in the day, RCMP responded to another robbery within the same area at approximately 2:45pm. 

The suspect, whose physical description matched the first incident, entered the business, brandished a knife, and demanded cash. In this case, the suspect wore a black hoodie, black flat shoes, dark pants, and bright green undergarments.
