A man is in serious condition at the hospital after being shot this morning.
Wood Buffalo RCMP was called to a Clearwater Crescent apartment at about 4 a.m., after a 911 call about shots fired. Cpl. George Cameron says it’s in the same area where police found a man shot dead during the long weekend.
“I know we’re going to be asked if this is related to the shooting from last week. It’s way too early in the investigation to even determine that. But certainly it would be looked at,” says Cpl. Cameron.
Police don’t believe it’s a random shooting. A suspect hasn’t been arrested.
This is the third shooting in the last two weeks. Officers were also called after reports of gunshots at the Morrison Centre on May 12, 2015. Yesterday, Cpl. Cameron said investigators are still looking for tips to identify a suspect in that case. No one was hurt during that shooting.
