Curbside collection, including recycling, returns to regular operations in Wood Buffalo starting July 14.

Residents must sort materials into appropriate collection bins.

They should bag all household waste and place it inside the black bin, while paper and cardboard recycling goes in the light blue bin.

Dark blue bins hold plastic and metals.

Yard waste must now enter compostable paper yard waste bags and place up to four bags per household on the curbside for weekly collection.

During the week of July 14, crews will collect waste materials from the black bin and dark blue bin.

The RMWB asks residents to correctly space bins for their fleet of fully automated trucks.

Purchased prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the trucks decrease touchpoints for collection crews.

Residents should place all scheduled bins on the curb on the day of collection before 7:30 a.m.

The front of the bins should face the road with at least one foot between other bins, and three feet from vehicles.

There may be circumstances where crews need to handle bins, so the RMWB asks residents to disinfect handles before placing them curbside.

For information on weekly scheduling for bins, go to the Municipality’s online calendar.
