COVID-19 response improving in Fort McMurray

Alberta reported two new cases and five recoveries of COVID-19 in the RMWB.

All five recoveries occurred in Fort McMurray, which has 12 active cases and 43 recovered cases.

This follows confirmation from Loblaws of a presumed case of COVID-19 at the Real Canadian Superstore in downtown Fort McMurray.

Both new cases are outside the urban service area to bring the total number of active cases to 21.

There are also 15 recoveries in Wood Buffalo’s rural areas.

Over the last 24 hours, there are 47 new cases of the virus, two deaths, and 32 recoveries across the province.

Both deaths occurred in the Edmonton Zone.

In Alberta, there are 620 active cases, 157 deaths, and 7659 resolved cases of COVID-19 thus far.

54 Albertans are in hospital with six in intensive care.
