All RMWB transit buses will distribute non-medical masks to passengers effective July 15.

Interested residents may each take a package of four masks from the bag located near the rear door of the bus.

The Municipality said rear door entry will continue on all transit buses.

This followed the province’s announcement of more non-medical masks to Albertans on July 13.

Alberta distributed a total of 300,000 masks to the region to help protect residents from a potential second wave of COVID-19.

Dr Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, said she strongly recommends masks for use in situations where physical distancing may not be possible.

Passengers and residents using bus shelters should exercise caution and follow public health guidelines such as the following:

  • Washing your hands frequently.
  • Refraining from touching your face with unwashed hands.
  • Staying home if you feel sick.

More information on proper handling and use of masks is available on the province’s website.
