Despite one new case, RMWB observes five more recovered cases of COVID-19

The province reported one new case and five recoveries of COVID-19 in the RMWB.

All five recoveries reside outside the urban service area, which has only two active cases and 58 resolved cases of COVID-19.

Fort McMurray has a single new case of the illness for six active cases and 70 recoveries.

This is the first report since Alberta Health officials declared an outbreak of the illness at Albian Sands north of Fort McMurray.

To date, there are no deaths linked to COVID-19 in Fort McMurray or among Wood Buffalo’s rural hamlets.

In the last 72 hours, the province also reported 359 new cases, 260 recoveries, and three additional deaths linked to COVID-19 across Alberta.

Hospitalization remains low with 45 Albertans in hospital, including 10 in intensive care.

Edmonton has the most active cases by zone with 593, while Calgary is second with 300.

Alberta has 1132 active cases, 224 deaths, and 11,056 recovered cases of COVID-19.
