Wood Buffalo RCMP have laid charges related to the 2019 discovery of human remains in Conklin.

On Apr. 8, 2019, officers responded to reports of a travel trailer fire on a remote pathway in the hamlet.

Upon arrival, they found human remains within the burnt out trailer, and deemed the death suspicious.

An autospy on April 11 determined the remains of 54-year-old William George Tremblay.

RCMP Major Crimes Unit said on Sept. 16, 2022, 37-year-old Ryan Tremblay was arrested and charged with indignity to human remains.

He’ll appear in court on Oct. 3.
