Wood Buffalo RCMP announced a local man has been arrested on sexual assault allegations.
In a statement, police said on July 28, 2023, officers began an investigation into a complaint of assault in Fort McMurray.
A 37-year-old man from Fort McMurray had been arrested on Aug. 17, 2023, and has been charged with the following:
- Sexual assault
- Forcible confinement
- Extortion without firearm
- Intimidation of a participant of the justice system
- Uttering threats
He’s scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 11, 2023.
